I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Language Arts from Kansas State University in 1996. In May of 1999, I completed my Masters of Science in Administration from Fort Hays State University; however, my love of teaching has kept me in the classroom.
I have 11 years of language arts teaching experience. I started my career at a tiny high school in Chase, Kansas, and then spent nine years at one of the largest, diverse schools in Kansas in Garden City. For the past four years, I substituted in two Catholic elementary schools, and I loved every minute of it!
The sixth grade year is a year of many transitions and new freedoms, and I am excited to be a homeroom teacher for the sixth graders.
Students will have different expectations and assignments from many teachers and they will need to use the assignment notebook and middle school blog and test calendar to stay organized.
This year’s theme is Let Peace Live in Our Hearts. I truly hope that all of us can let peace live in our hearts during our daily routines and challenges. I look forward to working with each and every one of my students.
