Sandy Wagoner - Computers

I earned my B.S. degree in Business (Marketing) from Indiana University. Before having children, I worked as a buyer and planner for Lazarus Department Stores and the Finish Line. While working for Lazarus, I created a software program that would order out-of-stock product – that experience gave me the “computer bug.” Since then, I have spent many days reading how-to manuals and expanding my use of software.
After having children, I worked as a substitute and then a full-time teacher in their cooperative preschool program. This experience gave me the “teaching bug.” I knew that I would have to combine my love for teaching with my computer experience. My position at St. Malachy is a perfect fit.
This is my third year teaching computers at St. Malachy. I also help middle school students prepare projects for the Indiana Library Federation’s Media Fair.
Students will be working this year using Microsoft programs – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Paint, and Access. We are excited to begin our 5th graders on keyboarding class. Our younger students work in KidPix, a program appropriate for their age-level. I am excited for another new school year.
